Why come out of your shell when it’s so damn comfortable in there?

This is a super-warm hat/snood combo. The snood has enough form that it will stand on its own--this means you can either cover your lower face in extreme cold, or just pull it down when it’s not as bad.

Because of the zigzaggy nature of the pattern, any horizontal stripes of color you add will automatically become chevron stripes! Would work great for an Easter Egg look. I also made a strawberry version where I reduced the top into an I-cord stem.

Or, you could just use classy color and make a classy hat that doesn’t even LOOK like an egg. See if I care!

I used Malabrigo Chunky in Natural, and if you’re only buying one skein to make the hat (not the snood), it’s possible you’ll run out. I don’t think you will, but you might. If you’re worried at the prospect of running out, just remove two rows from the body of the pattern. However, I can confirm that both hat and snood can be made with two skeins.

I am the model here and I have a size 22 head.
