This pattern can be used to make both Hippos, yarn requirements about 25g of 4ply for the larger Hippo, small amount of contrast yarn.

For Harry Hippo I used a cobweb grey merino and a .75mm hook. You could also use a lace weight yarn and a 1mm hook
