This listing is for the original Olann knitting pattern for the Haven Cardigan.

The Haven Cardigan is a versatile wardrobe staple. Slightly cropped, with a wide sleeve, the Haven pairs perfectly with all your pants and jumpsuits, as well as dresses. It can be dressed up or down; perfect for evenings on the patio or a night out. The sleeve looks great as a ¾, bracelet, or longer length. You can decide what suits you best. Or make multiples! The body length is also flexible, so you can achieve the perfect fit.

Knit from the top down, the seamless construction is easy to try on as you go, to make sure the fit is just right. Knit using a Super Bulky weight wool, the Haven Cardigan works up quickly.

This is an intermediate level knitting pattern.

Size Guide

Generously roomy, with 7-10 inches of positive ease across all sizes, this cardigan is designed for a boxy fit. The pattern is currently available in sizes S - XXL with finished body/bust measurements from 43-56.6 inches / 107- 141.5 cms. To begin, measure your bust and choose the size that gives you those extra inches for a roomy fit. Alternatively, if you’d prefer a neater look, you may wish to size down.

Gauge

9.5 STS x 13.5 ROWS = 4x4 inches / 10x10 cms in Stockinette Stitch on 12mm (US 17) needles.

Needles

Circular Needles: 16” 9mm (US 13), 16” and 32+” 10mm (US 15), 16” and 32+” 12mm (US 17) needles.

DPNS in all sizes or Magic Loop. Straight needles may work for this design. Or alternate needle sizes to get gauge.

Yardage

Approximately 540 (620) 715 (820) 945 yards of Super Bulky Weight Yarn.

Suggested Materials

Malabrigo Yarn Rasta (150g = 82m / 90y), Lang Yarns Virginia (100g = 50m / 55y), Purl Soho Woolly Wool (200g = 100m / 110y), Cascade Yarns Spuntaneous (200g = 100m / 110y) or an alternative Super Bulky weight yarn to get gauge.

You’ll also need stitch markers and a darning needle to complete this design. A row counter and felting needle are optional extras.
