This pattern is for a storage basket with an embossed leaf design on the sides. Instructions for two sizes are given but it can be adapted to make several sizes. It is a written pattern with photos of each round. It can be made all in one colour or with a contrasting lining.
Because the side design is a multiple of 25 sts you could make a smaller basket by only working 3 repeats.
Two heights are given for the side design, so by adjusting the base size & working either the tall or short side instructions you can make tall, narrow or shallow, wide baskets.
The large basket measures about 8” diameter x 7” tall. (20 x 18 cm)
The medium basket measures about 6 ½” diameter x 5” tall (17 x 12.5cm).
Gauge is not really important but the size of the finished baskets will depend on the yarn & hook size used. Use a hook one size smaller than you usually would to give a nice firm fabric. The basket can be lined with plastic canvas or pulled over an empty container of a suitable size once finished.
I find cotton yarn works well for these baskets but you could use any type of yarn you prefer.
