“If your relationship has progressed to the point of family introductions and he’s met your folks, you’re ready for the next knitting challenge. It’s still too early for sleeves, but a two-color vest that requires finishing for the neck and armholes will provide plenty of knitting stimulation.

“This vest is worked in a subtle, two-tone houndstooth pattern. The darker color is used for the ribbing and edging around the v-neck and armholes. When knitting with two colors, carry the yarns loosely across the back to prevent puckering. Note that working with two colors pulls in the knitting somewhat and creates a denser fabric with more stitches per inch than you’d find in knitting that uses only one color.”

Yarn requirements:
Color A = 650, 650, 780 yd
Color B = 520, 520, 650 yd

Needles: US4 and US6 straight, one US5 circular needle, 16”, or sizes you need to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: tapestry needle, stitch holders.
