Headband for the Office
Gauge isn’t really important for this pattern. More pictures are available on the pattern itself.
I like wearing headbands at work, to keep my hair out of my face. But lots of crocheted headbands kind of look like head rags. I find with this pattern, the trick is to use a lighter yarn (sport/sock or DK, but don’t use aran, worsted, or heavier, unless you want it to kind of look like a head rag), and finish around the edges with a nice, smart-looking single crochet. Now I’m making these in lots of different colors, to match various outfits.
The headband has a nice looped tie at each end, so it’s adjustable to most head sizes and hair volumes. If you have a particularly small head, or flat/fine hair, you may want to start with 69 or even 66 stitches. Also true if you use a slightly heavier yarn, such as a worsted.
