Heading East is a symbol of the interwoven paths in life with unlimited number of possibilities, but often we reach to the point where we have to pause and choose only one direction.

This is a pattern for a classic symmetrical triangular shawl, worked from the top down. “Loose” basketweave stitch make the major part of the shawl, leading the basket strips into cables and transforming into lace, all flowing naturally from one to the other.

This is a project for the knitter who will enjoy an engaging, yet easy, pattern for creating something beautiful and special.

And for those who have some leftover yarn and/or would like to make sets, here’s a matching hat and matching gloves patterns.
