Earpieces flaking? Looking worse for wear? Decided to save some cash on those large noise cancelling headphones and get an unexciting color? Here’s a fun way to solve any of these problems with a little stash yarn!

These headphone cozies are knit in the round from the speakers, over the cushions, past the buttons and to the headband attachment. The pattern can be adjusted to fit any earpiece about 4.5” in circumference and 2” deep where the headset attaches roughly in the center of the earpiece. There are instructions included on how to customize your cozies to your specific headphones, and example instructions are given for the PS Wireless Gold Stereo Headset used as the model.

Yarn: 100 yards of any fingering weight yarn, though a majority natural fiber count is preferable for heat regulation on the electronic earpiece. Pictured is A Hundred Ravens Yaksha in Fawkes colorway.

Needles: US2/2.75mm or circular needles needed to achieve gauge (DPNs are not advised, see Gauge below).

Gauge: 36 stitches over 4” unstretched. Lengthwise isn’t too important as you can stretch over the earpiece as you go to customize the length, with circular needles.

Special thanks to my test knitter Jennasie Rose Hart who tested this pattern for customizability!
