“Healers Basket ”
I wanted this design to represent a healers basket as she wanders amongst herb and flowers, collecting the plants to make valuable medicine.

The lines in the design represent the woven wicker lines of the basket, with the lace sections allowing air to flow through the shawlette and the imaginary basket.

It’s an irregular semi circular shawl that’s created using one skein of fingering weight yarn of 400m. I have made it in two different yarn bases for the photographs and the finished blocked size will depend on the yarn content of your chosen skein. Within the pattern are the dimensions using the different yarns.

Historical drama and fiction were the inspiration for the piece once again.
Its created with simple stitches and should be suitable for all to enjoy from intermediate beginner upwards.
