CROCHET PATTERN WITH STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS | Heart Baby Blanket

This crochet baby blanket has 20 hearts, there is also a 6 heart version available in my other listings. I used chunky Merino pencil roving for the example shown in this pattern, and a 12mm hook, but this pattern can easily be sized up by using a chunkier yarn and a 15mm hook or by using two strands of a finer yarn.

Using a finer yarn and the corresponding hook size for that yarn will make a blanket the perfect size for the car, bassinet or in the pram. I chose Merino yarn for its softness, but have used other wool and then hand washed with a wool wash to make the blanket softer and perfect for babies.

This is a beginner level pattern, the only tricky bits are changing yarn colour, but the whole blanket consists of only two stitches - you will have lots of practise by the end. This pattern is written in standard US terms and contains step by step instructions with photographs to help you along the way.

YOU WILL NEED

• 12mm crochet hook
• 550g of wool or yarn in the blanket colour (approx)
• 350g of wool or yarn in the heart colour (approx)
• scissors and a 6mm crochet hook for finishing
