Heart Fair Isle Baby Cardigan
This pretty baby cardigan is knitted in DK soft, light, wool cotton. It is designed with a delightful stranded heart motif and attractive garter stitch rib.
Knitted from the top down in one piece, minimising bulky seams. The only seams join each sleeve up to the underarm. I prefer to knit on two needles as I find it quicker however, the sleeves could be knitted on double pointed needles.
The option of two heart stranded patterns are provided as graphs of ten stitches with one extra stitch. They are easy to follow and ideal for a beginner to colour work.
The pattern is written for 3 sizes. 0-3 months, 3-6 months and 6- 12 months and is clearly colour coded for clarity.
Suggested yarns: Sublime ‘Isabella’, Rowan ‘Wool Cotton’ or Drops ‘Merino Cotton’.
I used 3.50 needles which are smaller than the recommended needle size for a firmer fabric which also improves the definition of the stranded colourwork.
