I had a little bit of chunky, pink, soft yarn left over, and wanted to make some hand-warmers for my 5 and a half year old, but couldn’t find a pattern that I liked, so I’ve designed one. I reckon that these gloves will fit a 5 - 8 year old’s hands.

The heart shape is knitted using what is usually the reverse side of the stocking stitch working in contrast with the right side. You could accentuate this by sewing around this in a contrasting yarn, in chain stitch if you are that way inclined!

They knitted up really quickly with 20 grams of yarn, and you can either have a knitted thumb, or just a hole for the thumb, depending I expect on what your little one wants!

Happy knitting.

Oh, and please feel free to use this pattern, as long as you’re not going to profit in anyway financially by doing so.
