Heart of the Atlantic Shawl
Named for the soothing strength of the waves at a Jersey beach, the Heart of the Atlantic combines a neatly geometric mesh with a soft wave-like edging. It’s beginner friendly, using just dc and sc stitches, and is easily adjustable in size.

Yarn, Yardage, and Colors
The sample is shown in a fingering weight, but the pattern works well in anything from a lace to an aran weight. It works well with any color style including variegated, solid, or speckled, and it’s ideal for yarns with a halo or those that don’t show texture well. It’s adjustable and can be worked with any yardage.

Screen Reader Compatibility
The main pattern pdf is designed to be screen reader compatible. The text is all in one column and headers are formatted according to the style sheet. The pattern is written out completely and the images have descriptive alt text. Please note that the pattern has nested repeats, which may make it more challenging to follow with a screen reader.
