Heart of the Dragon
Heart of the Dragon is a long, crescent-shaped shawlette designed to showcase the beauty of that special single skein of fingering weight yarn that has been patiently waiting in your stash for the perfect project. It is worked sideways with a rolled selvage edge, a section of garter stitch that gradually increases and then decreases in width to form the crescent shape, and a lace edging. Gauge is not critical, and the length of the shawlette can be adjusted with the number of pattern repeats.
The pattern uses two types and sizes of beads to highlight the lace pattern in different ways. There is some lace pattern on the wrong side rows, and a few fiddly stitches like p2tog tbl. Stitch counts for the lace section are included for each row.
If you are having trouble with the p2tog tbl, there is an alternate method explained here. Thanks, MelsNattyKnits for the link!
Instructions are both written and charted.
