Crochet this simple, double-sided heart pillow using the faux knit stitch and easy color work techniques. There are many options for customization!

MATERIALS

  • I Love This Yarn in Ivory and Red
  • US K10.5/6.5mm crochet hook.
  • Tapestry needle.
  • Locking stitch markers.
  • Poly-fil or an appropriately sized pillow form (I shoved this 16” x 12” form into the pictured pillow since I had just ran out of stuffing. Using a 12” x 12” form might be better).

NOTES

  • DIFFICULTY: Intermediate
  • FINISHED SIZE: 11” h x 12.5” w (pre-stuffing/inserting pillow form and seaming the top)
  • GAUGE: 13 splsc x 17 splsc rounds = 4”
  • STITCH GUIDE: ch(s) – chain(s), sc – single crochet, dc – double crochet, st(s) – stitch(es), foundation single crochet (fsc), split single crochet - splsc
  • This pattern is worked in the round from bottom-up and uses the fair isle method for color change
  • I did not bother weaving in ends in the back of the work since it is inside the pillow case. Instead, I gently double-knotted all ends and trimmed.
  • Leave long tails for closing the top and bottom seams.

SPECIAL STITCHES

  • foundation single crochet
  • split single crochet
