The pattern calls for tapestry crochet to embed the heart into the tag, but if you don’t know how or are unwilling to do tapestry crochet, you always have the option of cross stitching the heart onto a solid tag using the provided graph as a guide.

There are no line by line instructions provided for the tapestry crochet version of the Heart Tag. You must be familiar with following a graph. There ARE written instructions for a plain solid tag that you would cross stitch the heart design onto.

The pattern also contains a detailed written description of the crab stitch that makes up the border of the tag.

I bought three skeins of Red Heart Super Saver---Cherry red, White and Perfect Pink. I used less than half of each skein.
