Having searched for patterns for a sideways heart ’<3’ crochet hat to no avail, I’ve designed this one. Easy breezy.

level: intermediate

skills: know how to ch (chain), sl st (slip stitch), sc (single crochet), hdc (half double crochet); tapestry crochet (changing colors within a row) is detailed in depth; fphdc (front post hdc) & bphdc (back post hdc) are detailed briefly

hook: K/6.5mm for an adult size (go down/up a hook & yarn size for smaller/larger)

yarn: one skein Loops & Threads brand Charisma bulky weight acrylic in color #13 Charcoal for background, & two skeins Bernat worsted weight in color #53522 Redwood Heather plus Lily Sugar ‘n Cream cotton in color #95 Red for ‘<3’ held together for sideways heart (or feel free to make the entire hat in either bulky solo or worsted paired)
