Lace pattern “HEARTBEAT”: filet crochet edging, vintage style beauty, US terms.

Following this pattern you’ll be able to crochet a beautiful lace border with V-shaped edge and motives of hearts.
I’ve designed and crocheted this model in about 1989, repeated again in 2023.

AVAILABLE SIZES AND DIMENSIONS:
Dimension of the crocheted lace sample “HEARTBEAT 18” (of 18 repeating motives HBL), measured after delicate hand wash, blocking and steam ironing: width x length - 8.2 x 57 cm (3 15/64 x 22 7/16 in);
Calculated dimension of the one motive HBL: width x length - 8.2 x 3.2 cm (3 15/64 x 1 1/4 in).

SKILL LEVEL:
Intermediate. You must know 3dc filet crochet technique; basic crochet stitches and some advanced stitches: chain stitch, slip stitch, double crochet, double crochet stitches worked together.
For the best quality you need some experience to provide same crochet tension for each stitch. This is important not only for my pattern but for any other too. Also you must have some sewing skills to join the lace with the fabric (or collaborate with your friend who loves to sew).

MATERIALS:
Yarn - Adriafil Doppio Ritorto 12/3=8, 1 hardcore ball - 700 m/100 g (766 yd/ 3 1/2 oz), 100 % cotton, color shade 11 (cream);
used amount (“HEARTBEAT 18”) - 25 g (0.88 oz); approximately amount for the 1 motive - 1.4 g (0.05 oz).
TOOLS:
Hook 1 mm (US 12); tapestry needle; measuring tape, scissors; blocking board and stainless pins (optionally); steam iron.
