I designed Heartbeat for my mother, who is going through chemotherapy and always seems to have a cold. She loves all my knitting and I thought this would help her remember tissues wherever she goes. Heartbeat uses double knitting and the Kitchener stitch, but you can skip both if you prefer and still end up with a cute travel tissue holder.

This type of double knitting, sometimes referred to as knit 1, slip 1 double knitting, produces a double layer with the wrong side out, that will separate, rather than interlock, and open up the work at the end to create the cozy.
