Life is full of journeys. Designing, like knitting, is also a journey. I had this pretty red yarn and I was thinking hearts. Instead of hearts, this yarn wanted a pretty braid and lace edging. The lace edging adds a bit of a ruffle.

This pattern has an 8 row repeat for the edging. The patterns use Knit, Purl, YO, SSK, P2Tog and cabling front and back to create the braid. There are no rest rows in the braid or edging. The remainder of the shawl is garter stitch.

The shawl size can be adapted to the amount of yarn that you have. The sample measures 60” along the neck edge and 40” along the braid.
