Hearthfire Cabled Beanie
Worked in the round from the bottom up, the Hearthfire Cabled Beanie features both cables and mock cables. The slightly slouchy beanie is made with a wool and alpaca yarn to keep your loved ones’ noggins warm this winter.
Difficulty Intermediate
Yarn Weight 2
Finished Size 16¼ (19½, 22¾)“ circumference (unstretched) and 9½ (10, 10½)” tall. Hat shown measures 19½“.
Yarn Manos del Uruguay Alpaca Heather (70% wool, 30% alpaca; 164 yd 150 m/1¾ oz 50 g): #H2110 Zinnia, 2 skeins. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.
Needles Sizes 4 (3.5 mm) and 5 (3.75 mm): 16” circular (cir). Size 5 (3.75 mm): set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Marker (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.
Gauge 34½ sts and 31 rnds = 4” in charted patt on larger needle.
