I love designing socks for my favorite fandoms. These are inspired by the Hallmark show When Calls the Heart.
Most specifically I like designing socks for my favorite characters. The cables and lace socks here look like something Elizabeth Thatcher might choose to wear. Maybe not in orange like mine, but they are a luxurious merino cashmere blend that I can see her picking out.
Everyone I asked suggested the pattern looks like hearts, so I decided to call it Hearties, which is what fans of the show are called. Even if you have never seen the show or read the books, these are still pretty and easy to knit too!
You will need at least 350 yards of a sock weight yarn and size 1 needles. The pattern is written for magic loop but could be done in whatever method you like with a bit of adjusting. The cables and lace are fairly simple but beautiful. I found it simple enough for tv knitting but could be a bit challenging if you’re not a little familiar with cables.
