This is not a beginner pattern but I have included a stitch by stitch photo tutorial the help you through some of the tricky stitches.

Materials
-3 skeins Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick 6oz/106 yds per skein (I used the color Fisherman) or comparable #6 Super Bulky Yarn
-11.5 mm hook
-Large eye tapestry needle
-Scissors

Gauge and Sizing
-Gauge: 3 sts x 2.5 rows in half double crochet = 2 in
-Finished Scarf Measures: 7.5 in wide x 81 in long

Abbreviations
-I use US Terminology
-Ch(s): chain(s)
-Hdc: half double crochet
-FpDtr: front post double treble
-FpTr: front post treble
-St(s): stitch(es)
-FpTrtr/FpDtr2tog: front post triple treble and front post double treble together
