Hearts of Lace decorate the skirt and yoke of this embroidered coat. A 1950s example of this matinee jacket, held at the archive of the Knitting and Crochet Guild, was featured on the BBC4 programme “Fabric of Britain” in November 2013.

Pattern calls for 3oz of wool, oddment of coloured wool for embroidery and four buttons.
