This Heartstrings Granny Square continues my series of small heart motif projects that are crocheted using my Breakaway Crochet Method. The square is made up of a series of small hearts and little circles, so it’s sort of like 9 little mini projects rolled in to one.

Using my Breakaway Crochet techniques, it’s possible to crochet these hearts and circles one after the other without breaking the yarn between each one. Better still you can join them together as you go.

This pattern focuses on how to make just one square, but i do have more than one idea on how to join the squares together to make a bigger project. So if you master this single square then you will be in good stead for the fancier projects i have in mind.
