HeARTstrings was inspired by the upcoming weddings and births of friends and family. The hexagon pattern is stitched using TITR (Tunisian in the Round) and is suitable for competent beginner/intermediate Tunisian crocheters. The pattern is constructed in one piece, with ombre and solid coloured yarns, a variety of heart graphics, strategic colour changes and finished with a “Tie the Knot” border or a “Hearts and Love” option. The baby version is stitched using a fewer number of rounds.
TITR techniques using double- ended hooks are an absolute game changer. It is the best technique in crochet for lettering, graphics and mosaic designs with no yarn stranding or carries.

You will learn how start a TITR hexagon, read colour coded stitch charts (trust me, much easier than following round by round written instructions) and complete a piece of “heART”. I have included many hints on how to avoid yarn tangles, make colour changes, fix mistakes (it happens) and will guide you to success.

I’ve taught hundreds of ultimately successful students, some beginners to Tunisian crochet, and received rave reviews. I learn something every time I teach and am excited to share my techniques and patterns. I’ve been exploring TITR (Tunisian in the Round) for more than 7 years, created the method for charting designs, introduced the idea of using a smaller return pass hook to minimize tension differences and literally wrote the first TITR book, Learn Tunisian Crochet In the Round, published by Annies in 2021.
