Heat Waves Socks
Heat Waves is a sock knitting pattern sure to keep you entertained. It’s suitable for an enthusiastic beginner with a solid understanding of sock construction. They are knit from the toe-up, and combine ribbing, reverse stockinette and drop stitches to keep you on your toes, along with the Sweet Tomato Heel developed by Cat Bordhi and a picot edge bind off. The pattern is written for a medium women’s shoe. It can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing 8 stitches at a time, by eliminating the side ribbing, or more easily by adjusting the needles size to suit. It is written to allow for the slight shrinkage seen with cotton based sock yarns. If using another fiber, please make the proper adjustments for your gauge.
Materials:
Any Cotton Based, Fingering weight yarn, 100g (400-450yds)
Set of 5, US size 2/2.75mm double pointed needles) or one long circular needle for Magic Loop.
