Heather Blossom Shawl
The pattern for this shawl was inspired by the heather in bloom tumbling down the Uradale hills. The pattern is based on the traditional Shetland lace patterns Cat’s Paw, which resembles the tiny heather flower clusters, and Spider’s Web, which symbolises the intricate tangle of branches of the heather shrub. The colour scheme and pattern is playfully asymmetrical, symbolising the gently asymmetrical colours and slopes of the heather hills.
This shawl uses Uradale Yarns JW (jumper weight/fingering/4ply) yarn:
Ling Heath (150g)
Moss Heath (50g)
Beremeal (50g)
Tormentil Heath (25g)
Sea Pink Heath (75g)
Needle size:
4mm circular needles.
Tension:
The tension is not very important for this shawl. The measurements will vary slightly, and can be adjusted by using larger or smaller needles. Size and width can also be adjusted slightly when blocking.
Size:
Finished width: ca 192 cm
Length: ca 111 cm
Kit is available from Uradale Yarns for 55.00 GBP.
