It was when I was a little girl, looking at some pictures in a book called “World Landscapes”, that I got hooked on the Scottish Highlands. At first glance it might seem like a rugged, wildland, battered by wind and weather. But when Heather casts its charm and covers the hills, they glow with indescribable beauty and loveliness, dressed in all the autumnal ornament of their flowering heather.

Finished hand circumference: 16 (18, 20, 22) cm / 6¼ (7, 7 ¾ , 8 ¾)
Length: 18 cm / 7’’
Length can be easily adaptable by adding more (or less) colorwork pattern repeats.
Note: I recommend carefully checking the size you need because the colorwork looks much better with 0 or 1 cm / ½ ’’ of positive ease.

Yarn: Sample is knitted in Pegulhal by Retrosaria Rosa Pomar (100% Portuguese wool) 50 gr - 220 m

Needles: 3 mm / US 2½ circular needle for the mitt to work with magic loop method (or knitting needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round). Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions: 3 stitch markers (1 different marker to indicate the BOR), tapestry needle, to weave in the ends

Gauge: 28 sts and 32 rows — 10 cm / 4’’ over colorwork pattern in the round after blocking on 3 mm / US 2½ circular needle

Notes: Heather’s Charm Mitts are worked in the round, seamlessly, starting at the cuff. The mitts are coming in 4 sizes.
Beginners friendly as you only work with 2 colors at a time.
