On one version of this, I wove ribbon through the holes and tied at the ends for a little added zing. Hint: It may help to place a safety pin or marker on the RS.

Yarn: Chunky, about 150 yds. You could also hold a worsted weight and a mohair yarn together, or add some sequins.
Needles: #11– If you knit tightly, go up a size.
