Hector the Hedgehog
Measuring 18cm/7in from snout to tail, this prickly pal is not only quick to make but also a great way of brushing up on a special technique: loop stitch. This very simple variation on the basic knit stitch is easy to master but a step-by-step photographic tutorial is included so you’ll have everything you need to transform your furtling friend from humble to handsome. So, what are you waiting for? Curl up amongst those balls of yarn and prepare to hibernate with your very own huggable hedgehog!
All pieces are knitted flat on straight needles (although most can be knitted in the round). They’re then seamed and attached, mainly using mattress stitch. You can also find a video showing the loop stitch technique here.
You’ll be pleased to know that this pattern has been reviewed by a professional technical editor to ensure that it’s super-easy to follow!

This pattern is intended for personal use so it’s fine to print it out for personal use but please don’t sell it, share it on the internet or make multiple copies. What you can sell (more money for yarn – YAY!) is finished items made from this pattern so long as you’ve made them yourself and it’s not on a commercial basis. Please remember to credit me as the designer!
And finally…
I’d love to see your finished hedgehog so please share him or her on Instagram and here on Ravelry!
