The Hedelyng Slipover is a fun textured knit influenced by traditional Nordic motifs. Each motif is worked in multiples of 7. First the back is worked back and forth in irish moss, then increases for the armholes are made while working the first motif. Shoulders are then worked separately back and forth, first in irish moss with increases for the neckline. Both shoulders are then joined, and the front piece is worked back and forth in the first motif with increases for the armholes. The front and body are then joined and worked in the round – here the second and third motif are worked. Italian bind-off is used for all hems. Stitches are picked up for each armhole where a simple and short ribbing is worked in the round to create a neat edge. The same is done for the neckline.

There are three unique motif segments worked in this slipover achieved through simple knit and purl textured knitting. Each segment is divided by a series of garter stitches. Instructions for the pattern are written row by row / round by round, however you can also refer to the charts at the end of the pattern for a more visual guide.
