While exact gauge is not essential, this project is meant to be made with closely worked stitched. A hook size that is two sizes smaller than the appropriate hook size for yarn used for this pattern has been chosen. The finished size of the hedgehog prepared using the yarn and hooks detailed in the pattern is 8 inches long and 5 inches tall.
Any type of yarn could be used to create a smaller or larger creature, as long as the hook is smaller than suggested.
