Designed per request of the 6 or 16 in 2016 Ravelry group, this cozy hat is just simple enough for most knitters to manage, and just complex enough to give a tiny bit of challenge. Worked bottom-up, in the round, seamlessly. This is a relatively quick knit that gives a big impact for your knitting time. Great for gift giving, or make one for yourself!

Sized for Adults and Children – NOTE that the only change for Child’s size is that you use smaller needles and a tighter gauge.

GAUGE:
Adult size: 4” = 16 sts x 21 rows, in cable pattern, using size 10 (6.00 mm) needles
Child size: 4” = 18 sts x 24 rows, in cable pattern, using size 8 (5.00 mm) needles

Materials:

• Diamond Luxury Collection “Lima” or another heavy Aran weight yarn, 175 yards for Adult’s, 105 yards for Child’s
• Size 10 (6.00 mm) circular needles or DPNs for Adult size, or size 8 (5.00 mm) for Child size
• 3 stitch markers, plus 1 end-of-round stitch marker

Stitches & Techniques:
K (knit), P (purl), K2tog (knit 2 sts together as one), P2tog (purl 2 sts together as one), P3tog (purl 3 sts together as one), 2/1 LPC, 2/1 RPC, and 2/2 LC – see Chart Legends for instructions how to work each of these cable stitches, smB (small bobble) – see Chart Legend for instructions
