Hedgie’s Hat is the ninth pattern in the Storytime Knits Collection. This design was inspired by and directly complements the children’s book, The Hat by Jan Brett. It features as colorwork design that mimics Hedgie’s “hat” in the book.

Materials
Scout from Kelbourne Woolens (100% wool) (274 yards(250 m)/ 100 g (3.53 oz) per skein):
1 skein each in Scarlet Heather (MC) and Natural (CC)
Or 60 (70, 85) yards of dk weight yarn for MC; 100 (120, 150) yards of dk weight yarn for CC

US 5 (3.75 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular needles and double-pointed needles (or size required to obtain gauge) or long circular needles for magic loop
US 3 (3.25 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular needles or two sizes smaller than main needles for brim

24 sts and 26 rnds to 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette Stitch colorwork pattern on US 5 (3.75 mm) needles
