Heiloo socks pay subtle homage to the decorative brickwork of Classic Dutch architecture. With their instantly recognizable roof lines and tall, narrow facades, Dutch buildings stand out. But look closer and you’ll find a rich world of texture built into the walls themselves.
Pick any building and you’ll find bricks acting as both structure and decoration. Contrasting colors scatter like stars across otherwise flat walls. Bricks parade across archways and change directions like vertical garden paths. Heiloo draws on this tradition of combining form and function into a classic, colorwork sock that is warm, strong and endlessly wearable.
Heiloo socks are knit in the round using stranded colorwork. They are written toe-up and cuff-down and feature a twisted rib cuff, a colorwork body and German Short Row heel and toe.
SIZES
1, 2 (3, 4)
2 length options: ankle and mid-calf
CONSTRUCTION
The main feature of Heiloo is a simple all-over colorwork pattern, which is perfect for colorwork beginners, since the repeats are short and easy to memorize and there’s no need to catch the floats.
The socks can be knit either toe-up, or cuff-down depending on your personal preference. Both options are written out in the pattern.
A German Short Row Heel is worked over 60% of the stitches to ensure a good fit. A half-twisted rib Cuff keeps the socks from sliding down, while giving them a tidier look.
