The Held Beanie was designed as part of the Crochet Cancer Challenge hosted by Sweet Potato 3 Patterns. As a breast cancer survivor myself, this cause is near and dear to me, and so a portion of the proceeds from its sale will be donated to the American Cancer Society to help fund cancer research, patient services, and education.
This hat is made using bulky weight yarn and is written in US Terms and an Intermediate Skill Level.
It is graded for 3 adult sizes: small, medium, and large. Worked from the bottom up, the double brim is worked in flat turned rows before joining the ends to work the body in the round.
This PDF has EVERYTHING you might need to make this pattern, including photo tutorials and linked videos tutorials for the yarn over slip stitch, front post double crochet, and alpine stitch, as well as supplemental pictures, a stitch chart, and a row/round tracker! I also include tips and tricks along the way to help any novice pattern readers out there!
