The pattern includes three different lace stitches. These headbands are quick to knit and great for using up left over yarn. They also make a fantastic project for someone who is new to lace knitting. It’s a chance to practice working yarn forwards, yarn around needle, slipping stitches and working two together, without worrying about shaping or having a lot of stitches in each row.
To fit head: 52 (53-55-56) cm 20½ (21-21¾-22) inches.
Yarn required:
Headband 1: approx 19 (19-20-20) grams of pure wool 8ply double knitting yarn.
Headband 2: approx 14 (14-15-15) grams of pure wool 8ply double knitting yarn.
Headband 3: approx 17 (17-18-18) grams of pure wool 8ply double knitting yarn.
Needles required: A pair of 5.00mm UK 6, US 8 knitting needles.
Wool needle for sewing up.
Tension is not important for these headbands. These headbands are worked on larger needles than usually recommended as this gives a more open lace pattern.
Pattern rating: Easy.
