This shawl, with it’s dainty and delicate lace motifs, invokes memories of my childhood spending time at my great grandmother, Helen’s house. She had the kind of house that, as a small child was stuffy and forbidden, but as an adult is a wonderland of antiques, lace doilies, and my grandmother’s handmade porcelain dolls in their beautiful handsewn dresses. Now at 92 years old, she still enjoys her house of treasures, and I treasure the few years I have left with her.

The combination of garter stitch, crown stitch accents, and a simple antique looking lace comes together beautifully in this gorgeous, colorful shawl. Featuring an icord edging that is both attractive and practical (it’s makes weaving in ends a cinch), and an attached lace and garter border that adds a touch of feminine grace and elegance. This shawl is a timeless piece that will be a flattering and versatile addition to any wardrobe!

The pattern is written for one main color and 5 contrast colors, but can easily be worked in any combination of colors. Pictured shawl used Shalimar Yarns Breathless in colorway “Oyster” and Frabjous Fibers Wonderland Yarns Cheshire Cat miniskeins in colorway “Golden Afternoon”.
