Helen's Basic Slippers
These slippers are reminiscent of what many grandmothers have knit us. They are chunky slippers with a garter section to start, and then a ribbing section follows around the toes. Sometimes a pom-pom is placed on top for fun! This pattern is written so that minimal finishing is needed; only a few inches at the heel needs a bit of attention after the knitting is done. The slippers are stretchy, so aim to make these a bit smaller than the total length of the foot.
Materials
•Approximately 100 yards of bulky yarn (one skein of Lumio Fine works well, give or take size of slipper and/or size of pom-pom desired)
•7mm needles; straights AND a set of double-pointed needles
•Darning needle
•Scissors
•Pom-Pom maker (optional)
•Knowledge of length of foot for the lucky person who gets to wear these
