HELICAL Stripes…more than just another pretty cowl pattern.
If you have ever knit stripes in the round you know how annoying those little jogs at the start of each stripe are to deal with, not to mention that little bump of yarn inside that rubs your skin...all.. day… long
Helical stripes are truly a spiral that travels around and around creating flawless looking stripes. But even simple travels need directions, and that is exactly what this pattern is….your guide to making wonderful and easy stripes.
HELICAL Stripes 101 begins here!
I have set up an explanatory and easy to follow complete step by step photo tutorial that you can look at as you teach yourself how to do these simple stripes.
The helical stripes were so easy to do and the instructions were very clear. harnish408
Easy pattern to memorize and fun to watch colours reveal themselves. Knittycc
My second time knitting this cowl. The pattern is very well written, and has become one of my favorites.Smwalton13
The borders are simple mock cables that are a matter of passing a slipped stitch over a few stitches but create an interesting look to a simple design. The pattern will take you stitch by stitch through knitting mock cables so you can fearlessly try a new technique if you are new to these as well.

Special thanks as always to H.Waitte for tech editing.
I have had some fun with an amazing group of knitters who have tested this pattern with me as I designed and created the cowl and the writing of the pattern. I wish to express my thanks for their enthusiasm!
