Do you like Orangutans? Helio is an adorable and easy to make baby orangutan. Those big eyes are the secret to give him that cute face. The big challenge may be working the eyelash yarn but you’ll find the effort totally worth it.

Size: Your baby will be approx 12” or 30cm high standing.

You’ll need:

• WW/10 ply EYELASH yarn: 50-100g eyelash yarn (depending on the thicknes of the yarn). If it is too thin, you can combine the eyelash with a 4ply yarn in a similar color to make it thicker)
• WW/10 ply regular yarn: 60-70g
• Small quantities of black or brown yarn or embroidery thread.
• Crochet hook: 5mm (H) and 3.5mm (E)
• 15mm safety eyes or round buttons.
• Stuffing material, yarn needle and scissors.

Difficulty:
Intermediate (but just because of the eyelash yarn)
You need to know the basics of amigurumi technique (crocheting in the round, increases and decreases)

¿Te gustan los orangutanes? Helio es un adorable bebé orangutan muy fácil de realizar. Los ojos grandes son el secreto para darle esa tierna cara. El reto puede estar en trabajar con estambre “peludo” pero el resultado vale la pena el esfuerzo.

Tamaño: Tu bebé medirá aprox. 30cm de alto cuando está de pie.

Necesitarás:

• Estambre “peludo” de grosor mediano WW/10ply: 50-100g (dependiendo del grosor del estambre). Si es muy fino, puedes combinarlo con una hebra de otro estambre de color similar.
• Estambre regular de grosor mediano WW/10 ply: 60-70g.
• Agujas de gancho de 5mm y 3.5mm
• Hilaza de bordar o estambre de color negro o café para los detalles de la cara.
• Material de relleno, aguja lanera y tijeras.

Dificultad:
Intermedio (pero solo por usar estambre peludito)
Necesitas saber los fundamentos de la técnica de amigurumi (trabajar en redondo, aumentos y disminuciones)
