Hellebore Cowl
A beautiful chevron lace scarf or cowl in colors reminiscent of Hellebore flowers (Lenten Rose) that peak out of the snow in early spring. Ends are grafted together using Kitchener stitch, so the cowl can be worn in two continuous loops around the neck.
Size: 70” x 11”
Materials: Fingering weight yarn, 165 yards of each color, 5 colors,
825 yards total

C2: moss green, Dream in Color Jilly, color Apathy
C3: rose, Baah Yarns La Jolla, color December ‘17
C4: dark brown, Hedgehog Fibres, Skinny Singles, color Damned Nation
C5: medium brown, Dream in Color Jilly
Gauge: 20 sts and 40 rows = 4” in Garter stitch, blocked. (Gauge is not crucial for this cowl, but will affect yardage.)
Needles: # 5 (3.75 mm) 24 inch circular needle (plus second # 5 needle for Kitchener stitch)
Stitch Markers: optional, 6
Crochet Hook: (for provisional Cast On)
