This is a top-down triangle shawl with alternating bands of stockinette stitch and reverse stockinette stitch. The juxtaposition of the sides made me think of saying “Hello and Goodbye”, and the Beatles song ‘Hello, Goodbye’.

This shawl is knit in 2 sizes, small (large). The small is more of a shawlette size, and uses 1 skein of fingering weight yarn. The large is about 50% larger and uses 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn. I like using single ply yarn for this shawl because it adds a bit more drape to the finished piece, but feel free to use any type of fingering weight yarn you would like.

I designed this shawl using simple knits and purls to create an interesting fabric that showcases the beautiful tonal hand-dyed yarn. This shawl lays in ripples, adding to the texture of the overall look. The edge features a handsome ribbing, making this a great unisex pattern and a great wardrobe staple.
