Hello I Love You
“Hello, I love you, won’t you tell me your name” is the song lyric that goes through my head when I see a gorgeous skein
of hand-dyed yarn at the yarn store.
This cowl, named “Hello, I Love You”, is the fourth pattern in my Lover’s Knot pattern series, and is perfect for those gorgeous hand-dyed skeins of DK or sport weight yarn. The beautiful Malabrigo colorways look absolutely beautiful when crocheted with the Lover’s Knot stitch.
The cowl is crocheted in the round, and is created by crocheting a mesh of Lover’s Knots, single crochet and double crochet, in an easy two row repeat with an easy rope braid trim to finish off the top and bottom edges. If you can crochet one big loopy chain stitch and a single crochet you can crochet the Lover’s Knot stitch! I’ve included a written and photo tutorial for the Lover’s Knot stitch. And, this cowl is great for gifting--it’s quick and can be crocheted in one sitting.
The pattern instructions are for crocheting a cowl, but it’s very easy to modify the pattern to make an infinity scarf, by starting with a longer initial chain. I have included instructions for these modifications in the pattern. Either way, for a cowl or an infinity scarf you follow the same instructions.
