Hello World Book
This little book is full of dev tips for any aspiring programmer. Learn how to turn a bug into a feature, how to exit vim and other top tips!
The book has 6 pages and a front and back cover. There are a variety of tactile components to move and flaps to look under. The pattern includes written instructions for every component and photos showing the assembly process.
Materials Required
- 3.5 mm crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- DK yarn in pale blue (approx. 40g), red (approx. 25g), black (approx. 20g), royal blue (approx. 20g), dark green (approx. 20g), sky blue (approx. 10g), light brown (approx. 10g), bright green (approx. 10g), plus small amounts of each of beige, grey, white, purple, yellow, orange, teal, dark brown. You could substitute alternative colours for the status codes page, bug hat, text and plant pot - so it’s a stashbusting opportunity!
- black embroidery thread
Sizing
Gauge is not particularly important for this pattern, as long as you’re consistent. The whole book is crocheted with the same size hook. I used a 3.5mm hook and DK yarn, and the pages (26 rows of 30 hdc stitches) were 13cm x 13cm (5” x 5”). The finished book was 5cm (2”) deep.
