Hen Egg Basket
Please note: This is a digital PDF download of the crochet pattern only
Make a chicken-shaped egg basket just like your nan used to have, but crocheted. This size should slip over most oval dishes.
This egg bowl cover is designed to fit over a shallow oval bowl approx 20cm (7 3/4 in) long and 15cm (6in) wide, but it will work over any similar sized bowl.
The bowl is worked using the amigurumi method. Work in a continuous spiral without closing off each round with a slip stitch.
Materials needed:
Phildar Phil Coton 4 (100% cotton, 50g/85m), 2 balls of Yarn A Mercure (08), 1 ball of Yarn B Ciel (03), small amounts of Yarn C Oiellet (34), Yarn D Citron (63)
A 2.5mm (US B/1 or C/2) hook
A 3mm (US C/2 or D/3) hook
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle
Small amount of toy stuffing
3 cocktail sticks
2 black beads approx 7mm (1/4in) diameter
