Henley Ribbed Romper
You will need: yarn (up 80 grams for the smallest size and up to 160 grams for the largest size), knitting needles to obtain the gauge (please make a gauge swatch!), darning needle to weave in the yarn ends and to sew the crotch of the romper. Three buttons (newborn size) / four buttons (3-6m size) / five buttons (6-12m size) for the button placket and additional buttons for button crotch option (3 buttons for newborn size, 4 buttons for 3-6m size, 5 buttons for the 6-12m size) , a stitch marker, scrap yarn or stitch holders, matching thread and sewing needle to sew on the button.
The romper is knit in the round (you will need either a circular needle, if you are using Magic Loop, or double pointed knitting needles).
Gauge: 20 sts in 4in/10cm in stockinette stitch.
The romper comes in newborn size (it is meant to be worn when the baby is just born – for the first two weeks; this is the size that is usually preferred by newborn photographers and most often used as a photo prop), in 3-6 months size and in 6-12 months size (if it is used in photography, photographers will often refer to this as “sitter size”, meaning, it is for a baby who can sit unassisted).
this pattern in newborn size is available also in print: in the book “More Tiny Knits for Tiny People”
