This hat is part of a small collection of knits inspired by the women who came before me. My Grandmother crochets a lot and has told me stories of how her mother was an avid knitter and would often be found with needles in her hands. The design has the simplicity and practicality a country girl needs, but with a bit of feminine flair. I never met her, but I can imagine this was the kind of woman my Great Grandmother was. This is a slouchy beret style hat that features a simple and easy to memorize lace repeat, great for beginners. There is also a matching shawl pattern that will available soon. The worsted weight makes it a fairly quick knit and provides enough warmth for chilly days.

The brim measures about 14” unstretched and stretches up to 22” comfortably.
