Hepatica Sweater
This sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. Alternating stripes are worked using Merino yarn held single and Mohair yarn held triple. The back is shaped with increases, then stitches are picked up for the shoulders. Then the front is worked downwards to the end of the armhole, when the body is joined to work in the round. The sleeves and body are worked straight without decreases to achieve a loose and boxy fit. If you prefer not to purl as much, I’ll introduce a method that allows you to mostly work knit stitches.
The ribbing is worked in a 1x1 rib pattern, everything is finished with Italian bind-off.

Gauge: 18 sts x 32 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm / 4’’ x 4’’ using 5.0 mm (US 8) needles in garter stitch after washing and blocking
Note: Making a gauge swatch is crucial to this project. Garter stitch tends to grow a lot after washing so please make sure to knit a larger gauge swatch and wash and block it thoroughly. Switch to smaller or larger needles if needed.
